Our Europe team at MRA Search consists of 13 dedicated consultants who place top legal professionals into private practice firms across Europe and a further three consultants who place in-house lawyers across Germany and Continental Europe.
We provide full market coverage domestically and offer guidance for any lawyers who are looking to move across Europe. Our clients include leading US, Magic and Silver Circle, International, Tier 1 domestic firms and boutiques.
Our aim is to provide an informative, supportive and transparent experience in any search we conduct. Our fundamental focus is on delivering you the best possible service. The volume of placements we have made over several years has given us an incomparable level of market insight and strengthened our relationships with law firms globally.
What we do
We source positions for law firms in every practice area, placing junior associates through to partners. We also recruit for business service positions for law firms, including professional support lawyers, paralegals and compliance lawyers.
We mostly operate in the following jurisdictions, although we can (and do) fill legal roles in other countries across the region:
- France: Paris
- Germany: Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Berlin
- Italy: Milan and Rome
- Benelux: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg

Private Practice
Kay Khan
Kay is a Senior Consultant at MRA Search where she leads associate and senior recruitment across Europe and the Middle East. In particular, she focuses on recruitment in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.
Having placed fee earners into leading firms across the globe, Kay offers candidates from all practice areas a unique insight into market trends and truly understands the motivations behind each lateral hire. With a deep understanding of the international legal market and a meticulous approach to recruitment, Kay has established a strong network across Europe and the Middle East.
Virginie Baches
Virginie joined MRA Search from another leading recruitment company in February 2021.
She is a Senior Consultant in the French team and she works closely with elite Magic Circle, leading French and US law firms placing associates at all levels.
Hugo Preira
Marie Levrier
Max Fitzroy-Stone
Max joined MRA Search in 2023 as a Consultant for the French team. He works closely with elite magic circle, leading French and US law firms to grow their teams at associate level.
An unregistered barrister, Max was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2022.
Rheid Campbell
Rheid joined the European desk at MRA Search in 2024, where she places associates at all levels in US, international and French law firms across Paris.
Meg Royston
Meg joined MRA in 2024 and specialises in placing associates in US, international and regional law firms across London and European markets. Prior to working in legal recruitment, Meg trained and qualified as a solicitor at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP.
Gideon Berhane
Gideon joined MRA Search in 2024 as a Trainee Consultant for the Europe team. Before joining MRA Search, Gideon began his career at an international recruitment firm where he focused on recruiting for private practice law firms in the German market.
Angela Priolo
Angela is the Head of the Italian team at MRA Search. She recruits and has placed legal teams, partners and associates with leading international and Italian law firms.
She started her career in recruitment in 2015 at a leading international recruitment firm, after practising law in Italy.
Alessia De Simoni
Alessia is a Senior Consultant in the Italian Team.
She specialises in representing and recruiting lawyers, from newly qualified to mid and senior Associates, across Italy (mainly in Milan and Rome) and other European jurisdictions such as the United Kingdom, Belgium and Luxemburg.
Chiara Paiocchi
Chiara is a Junior Consultant in the Italian team, based in Milan. She sources and recruits associate lawyers for roles across Italy.
Helmut Rogalla
Helmut heads our German business, focusing on recruiting partners and teams for law firms.
With extensive experience in partner searches, partner representation, team moves and new office launches, Helmut has been responsible for some of the most prominent lateral moves in the German market.
Jan Heuser
Jan is Head of Private Practice Germany. He works across the German market, advising on senior level recruitment. With his extensive experience, he is focusing on partners, team moves, and strategic searches such as office openings.
In-house
Miriam Kuepper
Miriam heads up the European in-house practice. She specialises in recruiting lawyers into in-house positions all over Europe at all levels, up to and including General Counsel.
Prior to joining MRA Search, Miriam worked for more than fifteen years in another leading recruitment company building their continental European search business. She spent more than seven years in London and has subsequently helped establish their German offices. Miriam has extensive experience recruiting lawyers in various jurisdictions all over Europe.
Solveig Liv Heilmann
Solveig is co-heading MRA’s in-house practice in Continental Europe. Solveig previously worked for a leading international legal search firm where she worked in the European in-house market focusing on the DACH region and the Nordics.
Solveig is a German-qualified lawyer. She studied law at the University of Düsseldorf and trained with magic circle and boutique law firms as well as the Federal Foreign office, working at the German Embassy in Bern, Switzerland.
Ross Adams
Ross joined MRA Search to further expand our in-house team and focus on in-house recruitment across Germany. Over the course of the last seven years, he has amassed extensive experience placing lawyers of all levels into a broad range of companies across a variety of sectors and of all sizes.
