James Channer

James joined MRA Search in 2024 as a member of the North American Partner Team. He undertakes partner-level searches and office openings for US firms globally. James began his recruitment career in 2003 at global recruitment firm, Robert Walters. He also worked at EJ Legal and Goodman Masson before establishing his own boutique search firm, JCI in 2010, where he placed partners and teams internationally across corporate, investment funds, private equity, restructuring, banking, and finance.

Before embarking on a career in legal recruitment, James completed the UK Bar qualification to train as a Criminal Barrister.

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching his children play rugby most weekends, good food and wine, and travel.
